FROM: Hervey Bay To: Hervey Bay

DATE: 27 August 2024

POSITION: Mackenzie’s Jetty

REPORT: White Watch

Upon arriving at the boat club, we went to the South Passage and set sail for the adventure. We sailed around and learnt how to pull the sails up and how to tie some important knots. Along the way we saw dolphins and a whale. We learnt how to change the direction of the sails, as well as used an organised system to give everyone a role to do, it was periodically changed to ensure that everyone got a chance to participate in all areas of running the ship.

When we arrived at Mackenzie’s Jetty, we got transported to shore on a small motorboat. Once on the island we explored the different hiking trails throughout the area. We learnt about the history of the island and saw some historical artifacts from the war. When we arrived back to the ship, we had a knot tying competition and White Watch won. We then ate a delicious dinner of buttered chicken.
