VOYAGE NUMBER:  20240821

FROM: Rosslyn Bay To: Hervey Bay

DATE: 21 August 2024

POSITION: Cape Capricorn

REPORT: White Watch

We had our safety talk after everyone boarded and left not long after that. The weather was great. We saw our first whales and dolphins at 11:40am. We arrived at Cape Capricorn at around 3pm. Some people swam around boat and others went for a walk to the lighthouse. No sign of the white whale. Still looking.

Late afternoon, we frolicked ‘neath the bowsprit, under the mermaid’s lips. In the absence of any goats to barbeque, Steven created a curried fried rice that bought creatures from the shore sniffing from their burrows. We had collected two hessian bags of goat droppings for a fire to keep the mosquitoes away, but have not been required to use them.
