VOYAGE NUMBER:  20240806

FROM: Airlie Beach To: Airlie Beach

DATE: 7 August 2024

POSITION: Cid Harbour, Whitsunday Is

REPORT: Red Watch

This morning before departing Nara Inlet we went ashore and took a short walk to visit the indigenous cave of the Ngaro people. After viewing some aboriginal art in a cave, there was a nice interactive sitting spot where you could listen to some stories of the Ngaro people.

We picked up anchor and set sail in beautiful conditions of 20-25knots of wind and made our way to Cid Harbour. Another beautiful anchorage in this rather picture perfect destination.

Those who were feeling energised headed ashore to make their way up Whitsundays Peak. Quite a strenuous steep walk, with an altitude of 440mt. Well worth it for the view enjoyed at the top, looking out over the islands, and the aqua waters of the anchorage.

Those who didn’t want to do the longer hike, spent some time on the beach and enjoyed a shorter coastal walk.

What another stunning, perfect, incredible day. After all that walking, and a nice big feed, and a beautiful sunset, I am sure we will all sleep well tonight.
