CLIENT: General Public Voyage

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20240730

FROM: Townsville To: Airlie Beach

DATE: 3 August 2024

POSITION: Airlie Beach

REPORT: White Watch

Our last day of the voyage started with freshly made pancakes from Cath and a beautiful sunrise over the Whitsunday Island. This day we boarded on the island to have a walk up to the Hill Inlet Lookout. With sailing master Neil driving the dingy, we saw turtles crossing our way and some of us even saw a whale breach in close distance to the South Passage.

Our skipper Jim led the way in fast pace to the lookout. The view over the lagoon was marvellous. The combination of white sand and turquoise water created various shades of blue, a view that we truly enjoyed. It was also the perfect spot for a group picture. Two of us went down to the beach for a swim where we saw lots of sting rays. Todd, who stayed in Tongue Bay for snorkelling, saw some sea snakes and a turtle underwater.

On the way to our last and final stop, we enjoyed a calm sea on a sunny afternoon. We arrived in the Marina at Airlie Beach around 3.30 pm. After tidying and cleaning up, we received our certificates and nominated the winners of the knot competition.

Back on land our voyage ended with a dinner which gave space to share stories and anecdotes and tighten our friendships. It has been a special time with special people.
