REPORT: White Watch
Good evening South Passage Followers from White Watch. Today started incredibly well with waking to the Skipper Jim and Sail Master Neil moving the vessel around the corner to Port Gloucester for us to take a quick land visit to gain our land legs momentarily. We had delicious bacon and eggs breakfast to build up our strength for the day of sailing. Then we headed over in the dingy and it was funny how many people we could get in it. It was so beautiful to look back on the South Passage in the morning sunrise.
Today was not as windy so the sailing was not as rough. We had less ocean spray during sailing and tacking. We still averaged around 7 knots. The whales popped out to visit again. We saw four whales and their calves, so close to us. Wow, for some of us, it was the first time we have seen whales in our lives.
We have anchored at Tongue Point in the Whitsundays and we are on a visitor mooring.
We now are coming together as a South Passage Family. We are all looking and feeling more comfortable setting up the sails. The laughter on board is contagious. This is certainly one of the best experiences in our lives and we are grateful for the South Passage.
