South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: Townsville Grammar School

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20240717

FROM: Townsville To: Townsville

DATE: 20 July 2024

POSITION: Horseshoe Bay, Magnetic Is

REPORT: White Watch

Today was our final full day on South Passage. We started bright and early at 6am motoring through the Hinchinbrook regions, having breakfast as the sun rose. At lunchtime we stopped at Esk Island to jump off the ship and swim as a fun way to cool off during our voyage, even noticing dolphins in the water as we swam. After drying off, we rose the sails once again and made our way north back all the way to Horseshoe Bay to anchor for the night.

We had one of our final rope tying competitions, this time testing our knowledge and speed on the rolling hitch. Our dinner tonight was Chinese chicken with stir fried vegetables. We finished our meal off with peaches and custard for dessert. Tonight, we will also be nominating our student watch leaders, skipper, sail master and navigators for our command day back to Townsville. Emma & Andrea
