VOYAGE NUMBER:  20240609

FROM: Townsville To: Cairns

DATE: 10 June 2024

POSITION: en route to Dunk Is

REPORT: Red Watch

We started off with a breakfast of porridge and cereal followed by our knotting competition, consisting of reef knots and figure of eight knots. We came 1st in reef knots and 3rd in figure of eight. We celebrated our great success with a warm breakfast of toast, hashbrowns and spaghetti.

After breakfast we caught a nightmarish creature of the sea, which we disposed of accordingly (White,2024). After the creature of the sea was disposed of, we anchored at (Hinchinbrook Island) Zoe Bay and took the dinghy to the beach. We scaled the treacherous mountains towards Zoe Falls, conquering all adversities along the way. Our journey was rewarded with a rejuvenating swim in the ice-cold water.

After departing Zoe Bay, we raised the sails and headed towards Lucinda Jetty (the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere). On the way we found dolphins following the bow wave. The Milkos started preparing ahead of time to destroy the other watches in the ultimate bowline knotting battle. We nourished our hard work with sausages and mash after the excruciating knotting practice. As a bonus we devoured sticky date pudding and custard.

We then proceeded to do the daring watch rotations, where the Milkos singly-handedly captained the ship in the dark, stormy night. We ended the night as champions, recovering our energy for the next day of competitions and sailing.
