CLIENT: GPV Adult Sail & Walk

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20240601

FROM: Townsville To: Townsville

DATE: 3 June 2024

POSITION: Dunk Is

REPORT: Blue Watch

Guided by our watch leader compassionate Kate or CK or us Baggywrinkles (BW’s) call her …the morning started early, (in fact could not have been earlier 12:00 am) Blue watch pulling the early morning shift going to bed to arise again at 6:30 am.  However, seeing the moon rise in a clear starry night was worth the sleep deprivation for at least two of our BW’s.  Breakfasts completed, cold then hot, sails were set for what our skipper called champagne sailing to Hinchinbrook Island at a smart 6-7 knots.

After another yummy lunch of pasta and cheesy bread, we disembarked for a walk through the bush to rock pools, where we managed not to kill ourselves getting over the very slimy rocks into the water.  It was a challenging walk but great fun.

Our Bosun of the day, meanwhile had to feign a stroke including palsy as part of training of our assistant watch leader, Nicola. Fortunately, she passed even though the difference between our Bosun having a stroke and not having a stroke was difficult to ascertain.

We then set sail again all the way to Dunk Island getting in at nightfall just as the engine died.  CK was on anchor duty and did an amazing job to set the anchor with no motor control.

And so the BW’s head off to bed anticipating tomorrow’s Dunk Island adventure.
