South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: Bronze D of E / Youth Voyage

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20220410

FROM: Manly to Manly

DATE: 10 April 2022

POSITION: Tangalooma Wrecks, Moreton Is

REPORT BY: Blue Watch

Today was our first day on the ship South Passage. We were surprised by how large the ship was yet was wondering how it was going to accommodate 30 people until we were led below deck. For many of us it was our first time on a large ship and found controlling the helm somewhat difficult. We all were involved in raising the sails and controlling the ropes for each tack. At the end of the day, we all had the opportunity to jump off the ship and swim around at the Tangalooma wrecks.

Later on, we took the tender to the sandhills and climbed up then ran/rolled/flipped down. Additionally, some of us decided to go for a walk along the beach, and wade in the water. We all came back, and Blue Team (us) won the knot competition by 30 seconds, earning us the right for first choice at the exquisite dinner. This was followed by an excellent dessert of Danishes and fruit salad with custard. Following this, we were able to enjoy some free time.

Finally, we had the last watch of the night, from 20.00 to 00.00. We’re all excited for tomorrow, and what the new day will bring. Hopefully, we’re able to snorkel near the wrecks, and set sail to a new destination.
