South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: Wamberal SLSC

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20220105

FROM: Manly to Manly

DATE: 6 January 2022

POSITION: Tangalooma, Moreton Is

REPORT BY: White Watch

This morning we woke up at 5:30am at Blakeleys for our first shift of the day. We logged information in our booklets and polished the brass. White Watch was victorious in the reef knot comp before we had pancakes for breakfast. After breakfast we pulled up the anchor and headed off and our Watch raised the headsails.

At the beginning of our second shift after lunch, the weather became a bit chaotic resulting in our gybe needing to be turned to a tack at the last minute due to the swell increasing with the waters becoming increasingly choppy. The first hour of this watch was much busier than the remainder as we got to follow through our rotations and spend time on the helm, doing our jobs with ease.

In the late afternoon we anchored near Moreton Island, near Tangalooma, our spot for the night. We were able to go for a swim with the choice of jumping off the ship or going onto the beach, with most deciding to do both. Once we returned, we showered, had dinner and played Uno for a game.
