REPORT BY: White Watch

Early Saturday morning, we eagerly anticipated the arrival of the South Passage. As we watched it slowly increase in size along the horizon, the feeling of excitement burst through our bodies. Standing on the edge of the Dunk Island jetty, we were grateful that we didn’t fall off the side of the rubber ducky boat.

Once we boarded the ship on the beautiful blue ocean we began learning all the small yet important details of a sailing ship. The freezing cold breeze carried our hats overboard, though thankfully was rescued by the amazing crew. After learning many skills, we were over joyed at the thought of a home cooked meal. Spam, plastic cheese and cauliflower was now replaced with spaghetti bolognaise and sticky date pudding.

Finally, resting our sunburnt heads on a soft mattress instead of the hard roots we have become accustomed too. We keenly await the thought of tomorrow and memories we will cherish forever.
