South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: The Cathedral School

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20210803

FROM: Townsville to Townsville

DATE: 3 August 2021

POSITION: Herald Is

REPORT BY: Blue Watch

This morning at approximately 9:30 we saw two brown stingrays roaming the reef before we boarded the South Passage. Then we had a quick look around the ship before departing out of the Townsville Marina. Half way through the trip, we saw a pod of whales waving at us and showing off by jumping up out of the water.

Then we learned how to get the sails up and going and learning how to tie a knot in many different ways. In the afternoon, we put the ship to a stop and had a quick dip at Rattlesnake Island and had a good refresh. Then we had the usual Knot competition before supper. Blue team placed 2nd, just 6 seconds off the red teams winning time.

For supper, we had chicken, peas, carrots, gravy and rice. And to follow that for desert, we had some Apple pie with custard. The sun set, revealing a truly wondrous display from the night sky. Uno, Blackjack, and bull calmed (or maybe not) everyone down for bed.  Grace, Tyrell and Kieran.
