South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: Sail and Walk Voyage

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20210711

FROM: Townsville to Townsville

DATE: 15 July 2021

POSITION: Orpheus Is

REPORT BY: White Watch

Left the shelter of Haycock Is in the Hinchinbrook Passage to stop at Lucinda for fresh water. Bob took advantage of the lengthy filling time to skip downtown for 13 Cappuccino’s. Kindly got one for Captain Phil luckily, (who didn’t want one cause he only drinks decaf) because he forgot to add his own name to the long list!

Then sailed along the 5.76km sugar jetty to Pelorus Island where we anchored for a marvelous swim and snorkel. After lunch a short hop to Pioneer Bay on Orpheus. For more walking and snorkelling. Now anchored for the night.

Other highlights were winning the knot comp again! Had a fortuitous day with animal sightings too: crocodile, stingrays, Brahminy Kite, whales, dolphins and sharks.
