Today we had an early start so we could begin sailing to Orpheus Bay. We raised the anchor manually, which isn’t everyone’s favourite job because you get pretty dizzy, pretty quick. White watch started off the day sailing with some porridge in our bellies thanks to Hugh. The weather was mostly clear and a lot warmer than the other days which made watch duty a lot more fun.
We sailed through the clear and glassy Hinchinbrook Channel which made for a nice change from the windy weather and angle the ship had previously been on. After smashing down some salad and meat wraps we looked out for port and starboard markers through the channel. We ended off the day coming our usual last place in the knot tying competition, not to anyone’s surprise. Hugh prepared a delicious and unbeatable bowl of Chinese chicken stir fry. We are all ready to tackle a new day tomorrow.
