DAILY VOYAGE REPORT.

VOYAGE:                     General Public Voyage Manly to Hervey Bay

VOYAGE NO:               20210510

DATE:                          11 May 2021

POSITION:                   Garry’s Anchorage, Great Sandy Straits

REPORT BY:                  White Watch

Today was a massive day starting at 2:30am in Moreton Bay just along from Tangalooma Resort.

It was pitch black and you could see clouds/storms rolling around Brisbane with lighting occurring in the distance, it was not cold as we had expect it would be, some team members had jackets on and some just had t-shirts on with our stunning life jackets.

We had all sails up and ready just after 3:00am. We never thought we would be sailing at this time of day, it was certainly an experience that will stay with us.

White team was on the first watch for the day from 4:00am to 8:00am, not much of a sunrise from all the cloud cover but the light was welcomed as it’s just easier to see and sail, taking the helm at this hour was a challenge with skipper Damon providing some great assistance.

The watches kept changing today, every 4 hours, changeover was welcomed for a chance to sleep!

We actually got to sail today, cruising along 6 knots with no motors with The South Passage showing what she is designed for, it is amazing to be cruising up the Coral Sea.

We have reached our anchorage for tonight at 7:15pm after 98 nautical miles!
