REPORT BY: Red Watch

What a day! We hit open water today and we have never seen so many people take sea sickness tablets haha. Turns out the water was calm. Today started with a 6 am wake up by a bugle and we set sail at 6:30. The wonderful, wacky Wozza is our watch leader and his dance moves are off the charts. We travelled south to the Gold Coast and the water was magnificent. Ticked off the bucket list by hoisting the sails, seeing pods of dolphins, turtles and even a shark!

Our lovely cook Louise is taking good care of our tummies and food today was lavish. We had hash browns, spaghetti toast and cereal for breakfast, spaghetti bolognaise and salad for lunch and for dinner we had steak, potatoes and greens for dinner. The amazing Robyn and Nicole made sure we stayed on course today and were able to make our way to Runaway Bay.

It was awesome seeing the lights and views of the Gold Coast as we were sailing in and it was a challenge but a good one to lower the sails with no light. This experience is one that will stay with us forever and we have all learnt so much and have more to learn over the coming days. To finish the day we are anchored in Runaway Bay and loving it! Without any element of bias, RED WATCH will win all our knotting competitions tomorrow and are the best watch group.
