CLIENT: Lorien Novalis School
VOYAGE NUMBER: 20191027
FROM: Port Stephens To: Sydney
DATE: 29 October 2019
POSITION: Refuge Cove, Broken Bay
REPORT BY: Red Watch
We woke up at 04:00, polished the brass at 06:00 and watched a beautiful sunrise. After a hearty breakfast the red watch proceeded to win yet another rope tying competition. The crew was assigned positions and we prepared to set sail from Broughton Island, embarking on the 3rd day of our journey.
Soon enough we were on the open ocean with no land in sight. The class spotted dolphins, the occasional whale and a sunfish, which everyone thought was a shark! After riding the choppy seas for the day, the sunset took all of our breaths away (except for those who were busy working).
Once the sun disappeared, the course changed and we got the ride of our lives. The sails so close to the water, we got sprayed with salt water till our clothes were sopping. It was like the best rollercoaster any one of us had ever been on.
We finally reached our destination of Refuge Cove and were happy to have reached calm waters. Lowering the sails and anchor, jobs were finished for the night and everyone hit the hay. (Well almost everyone).
