CLIENT: Combined School Voyage
VOYAGE NUMBER: 20201125
FROM: Manly to Manly
DATE: 25 November 2020
POSITION: Big Sand Hills, Moreton Is
REPORT BY: Blue Watch
We as a group came aboard the South Passage at 12pm from Blakeslys. Everyone was given a tour of the ship and shown the emergency exits and procedures. After this, our first major task for the day was raising the main sail, Jib, foresail and the staysail. Everyone had a shift together, and then broke off into 2 hour rotations where we learnt to tack and gybe the South Passage. Everyone enjoyed card games and rest in time off and the meals were excellent.
As Blue Watch, we have had the first of the night watches, and as such brought down all sails and lowered the anchor after sailing until about 9pm. The other two watches will be tracking the boat over the next eight hours on anchor watch. There was a consistent south easterly breeze at around 15 knots, which meant we were averaging around 6-7 knots. It was overcast for most of the day with a relatively clear night. Looking forward to tomorrow when we sail back to Blakeslys. Sebastian and Oscar
