VOYAGE NUMBER:  20240507

FROM: Manly To: Hervey Bay

DATE: 9 May 2024

POSITION: Coongul Point

REPORT: Blue Watch

The morning sail was a pleasant reach down the K’gari coast with light to moderate winds and calm seas, although no whales were to be seen being a little too early for their migration.

Thursday morning weather continued to haunt White watch appearing in a timely manner every time they started their watch but cleared up in time for a shore party exploration of Awinya Creek. In the creek three trailer yachts were sitting and dingos were also seen lounging on the banks.

The knotting competition was again eagerly undertaken with all watches, with Blue Watch once again demonstrating their prowess in knotting speed and knowledge!

Finally the scene was set for tomorrow’s Command Day where crew take over the key positions of Skipper, Master and Navigator.  Exciting times expected tomorrow!
