FROM: Sydney To: Brisbane

DATE: 9 January 2024

POSITION: South Stradbroke Is

REPORT: Blue Watch

Today on day 6 Blue Watch had the 1200 – 0400 shift. Throughout this shift we had to do multiple tacks which was very exhausting. We then went to sleep before being woken up at 0730 for breakfast. We had to make a stop at Ballina to drop of Libby.

After that pitstop we went nonstop passing the border and entering Queensland. We saw lots of dolphins whilst sailing along the beach. Throughout our shifts we had to tack multiple times to accommodate to the changing winds. We then dropped the anchor at Southport where we then got attacked by mosquitos as we fell asleep.

The weather throughout the day varied. In the morning the weather was warm and sunny with strong winds however as midday rolled around it began raining. As the sun set the rain stopped however started raining again before midnight.

Dinner was our favourite part of our day with Shepherds Pie followed by cheesecake for dessert. The day was not very exciting but was still enjoyable.
