South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: Silver Duke of Ed

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20230925

FROM: Hervey Bay to Manly

DATE: 28 Sept 2023

POSITION: Big Sandhills, Moreton Is

REPORT: White Watch

Today was a breezy day, we all woke up to the sound of the bugle at 6:30 am which was blown by Jasmine. We then had cold breakfast which consisted of a variety of cereal such as Weet-bix, cornflakes and porridge. After cold breakfast, we had a knot competition with the bowline knot. Red watch came first, then blue watch and finally us white watch. It was close with seconds between each team.

We then got ready for the beach near Tangalooma whilst others cleaned the heads and put the dishes away. Once we got there some of us decided to walk down to the resort and explore the island whilst others enjoyed some relaxing hours by the beach by swimming, tanning or just talking to our new friends. After some hours at Tangalooma, we were offered the chance to jump off the ship and some jumped gladly at this opportunity whilst others decided to stay and spend more time at the beach. Those that decided to jump off the boat had a great time.

Once we all returned to the ship, we had some burritos for lunch. We then lifted up the anchor the old-fashioned way utilising everyone’s skills. After we anchored, we set path to the Great Sand Dunes. When we got there, the crew decided to change schedule as the weather was not in our favour giving the red and white watches 1-hour shifts.  In the distance we saw lightning and rain started pouring leading all of us to go back inside to our cabin. After this we spent the whole-time playing card games and resting, today was quite peaceful. Adaobi, Sami, Addie, Abby, Dom, and Reilly.
