VOYAGE NUMBER:  20230801

FROM: Townsville to Mackay

DATE: 5 August 2023

POSITION: South Molle Is

REPORT: Red Watch

We got up extra early to start the day from Cape Gloucester and touched land for the first time in days. We anchored and got to go to shore to swim and put our toes in the sand. We climbed the rocks, met some campers and Libby eventually convinced some of us to do handstands in the water. Then we set sail for Airlie.

Today was a much nicer day on the seas, it wasn’t as rough, and we briefly saw whales again. Then we made it to Airlie at 1430 to refuel and top up our water tank. Trent, Wazza and Shanika did a mega rubbish run in the tender but unfortunately, we did not get ice cream at Airlie beach, although we were promised it! Finally we parked up in South Molle Island for the night.
