VOYAGE NUMBER: 20230617
FROM: Cairns to Cairns
DATE: 18 June 2023
POSITION: Sudbury Cay
REPORT: Red Watch
We Started the day off early with a watch from midnight to 4am. During this watch we checked the bearings to fixed positions to monitor our position. We then filled the logbook in with all the relevant information. We then had cold breakfast around 6:30 am and then had the figure of eight knot tying competition where we let white watch win. We then had a hot breakfast of scrambled eggs and baked beans.
Once breakfast was done we headed on land to do the Fitzroy lighthouse walk. Up at the lighthouse we veered off the track and visited Rusty’s grave and climbed rocks. We then billygoated back down the hill were Esther had a graceful stumble. We then headed back to the ship followed by delicious hamburgers for lunch by Louise.
After lunch we had a round robin backstay competition where red and white tied in the final. Once finished with that we manually raised the anchor and headed to Sudbury Cay. Once we arrived at Sudbury Cay, we all jumped of the boat and had a most painful entry competition that Ashton won after knocking the wind out of himself. We finished the day off with bangers and mash and listened to toby play guitar on the deck under the starry night sky.
