Our day began with another round of the knot tying competition at Gloucester Island.
After a hearty pancake breakfast, we raised the anchor and set off on a north-east course reaching 11.7 knots racing another yacht past Abbot Point all the way to Cape Upstart.
We were early for our BBQ rendezvous at Cape Upstart, courtesy of the Burdekin Trailer Sailor Club and watch leader Dave. Waterfront location and Prawns, Mud Crabs, Steak, Potato Bake, Chocolate Cake, Apple Slice, Pumpkin Damper and Homemade Lamingtons. We knew we were welcome.
The crowds were overwhelmed by B1 and B3 on the duelling ukeleles. They performed original renditions celebrating the locale “Cape Upstart farewell”. We look forward to a repeat next year! Top Bananas Libby (B1), John (B2), Louise (B3), Bek (B4) and Roger (B-Ware). Bowlines aplenty and smiles all around.
