South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: St Stephens College

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20230401

FROM: Manly to Manly

DATE: 4 April 2023

POSITION: Tangalooma, Moreton Is

REPORT: White Watch

We woke up at Bulwer, near the cape of Moreton Island. Hugh served us bacon and eggs for brekky, and we then participated in a knot tying competition, successfully we had fastest time for the clove hitch.

Kelsie was chosen to be White Watches bosun although all groups came together to help raise the sails in the morning. We continued down the inside of Moreton Island with lots of tacking on the way!

Just after lunch (yummy burritos) around 2pm, we went in smaller groups in the dingy to Tangalooma beach, where we went snorkelling and saw many fish species, such as Dory and Nemo.  Soon it started to rain and quickly became cloudy.  That didn’t stop a few sliding down the sand dunes!

We finished the day under anchor at Tangalooma and came away with second place in the single sheet bend knot comp!
