South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: Townsville Grammar School

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20210721

FROM: Townsville to Townsville

DATE: 23 July 2021

POSITION: Hinchinbrook Channel

REPORT BY: Red Watch

Red watch had our first shift today at 0400-0800. We took bearings and polished the brass, as well as starting our navigation exercises. We finished breakfast (hash browns and toast), and finished the watch by cleaning the forward head. We raised the sail at around 1000. We had splendid views around Hinchinbrook Island, which was a novelty.

We had lunch early at 1130, burgers courtesy of our resident chef, to start our next watch from 1200 to 1500. However, we ended up cutting our watch short due to a surprise visit to Cape Richards, where we ended up playing a game of football on the nearby beach.

Afterwards we travelled back around and into Hinchinbrook Channel where after the ship anchored next to Hinchinbrook Island, we witnessed a beautiful sunset. We had ‘bangers and mash’ for dinner, and wrapped everything up nicely at around 2000.
