South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: Mareeba SHS

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20190622

FROM: Cairns To: Cairns

DATE: 25 June 2019

POSITION: Vlassoff Cay

REPORT BY: Blue Watch

In the morning we got the opportunity to go snorkelling and saw a shark lying under a coral bombie at Milln Reef. We first had a competition for the back stays, which we lost to Red Watch, coming second overall. We also had a go at gybing the sails today. We saw five dolphins while sailing before we got ready to change the side the sails were on (gybe).

For lunch we had burritos cooked by Hugh. Later that day we had two dolphins follow us for a while again, while one of the watches was trimming the sails, these dolphins followed the bow of the boat for a fair way.

We arrived at our last stop Vlassoff Cay around 16:30. We had a knot competition in the morning and afternoon. We had to tie a sheet bend, which we won, and a rolling hitch, which we lost to Red Watch. To prepare for command day tomorrow we elected Ben as the skipper, Mikayla as sailing master, Georgia as navigator. We also elected watch leaders. To end the day we had a talent show with singing, comedy acts and magic.
