South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: Silkwood School

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20190429

FROM: Manly To: Manly

DATE: 2 May 2019

POSITION: Cabbage Tree Point

REPORT BY: Blue Watch

At dawn, the blue watch group were brought up on deck to clean the brass. Then when everyone woke up, we had a knot tying competition, demonstrating the bowline knot. Cold and hot breakfasts were served.

After we raised the anchor, we sailed out of the harbour to meander into the open ocean for a while. We came back into the seaway and motored to Wavebreak Island. We anchored and played a game of cricket for a while, followed by a walk and beach clean-up. For lunch we had pasta and garlic bread, which was very much enjoyed. After lunch we took turns jumping off the bow sprit and having a swim. Some of the boys had a competition to see who could kiss the mermaid first and Brandon, Jamali and Daniel were successful.

After our fun swim, we pulled up anchor again, raised sails and set course for Cabbage Tree Point. Along the way, crew members above deck got absolutely soaked while moving the jib sail due to sudden heavy rain shower. While we waited for the tide to rise we had our next knot tying competition working on the clove hitch. We enjoyed a pretty sunset, a yummy dinner and it was an early-to-bed night.
