South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: The Hills Grammar School

VOYAGE NUMBER: 20161219

FROM: Sydney TO: Sydney

DATE: Day 1, 19 December 2016

POSITION: Refuge Bay, Broken Bay

Report by: Blue Watch

When the boat arrived at the port, it looked small but once we explored the inside we saw how organized, spacious, and nice it is. All watches worked together at first to learn the ropes and systems and safety rules for the South Passage. We pulled the sails up, which was hard work, and began to sail away from Sydney. A few of us got sea sick, but everyone is feeling better now.

Each watch had shifts and shared duties. When we weren’t at the steering wheel, keeping lookout, or doing other various activities, we had free time to relax. The cook did an amazing job for lunch and we enjoyed our sandwiches. We then sailed to Refuge Bay, let down the sails, and enjoyed a swim by the beach. Afterwards we came back to the boat for dinner, a delicious chicken meal. As people organized their night watch shifts, others played card games and napped.
