VOYAGE NUMBER:  20190924

FROM: Manly To: Hervey Bay

DATE: 24 September 2019

POSITION:  Tangalooma, Moreton Is

REPORT BY: Blue Watch

Today we went on a Duke of Edinburgh trip on the South Passage. When boarding the ship, we went through several safety procedures that the crew members expect from the trainees. We then sailed out of the marina, and the crew members taught us how to sail a ship and what was required to hoist the sails. Once this was done we sailed across Morton Bay in the beautiful breeze.

We arrived at Tangalooma beach where we anchored the ship and swam in the ocean. We were lucky enough to swim with dolphins and Dugongs, however sadly we got sunburnt. Afterwards we had a rope tying competition which was exciting. After this was done we had a lovely dinner and settled down into the bunks and played card games. Overall today was an amazing experience as we got to see the true beauty of sailing.
