POSITION: Big Sandhills, Moreton Is

REPORT: White Watch

Our group arrived at Manly Boat Harbour 8:30 AM. The weather was nice and sunny with a cool breeze. We saw a pod of dolphins and a few lonesome turtles. We had an orientation, discussing the topics of safety, sailing and sleeping. After that we conducted a practice ‘man overboard’ drill.

We then set sail to Moreton Island, using different skills like tacking and hoisting the sails. After arrival we had a lovely swim in the ocean and engaged in frontflip activities. Then we got dressed and participated in a rope knot competition in which we smashed the competition out the park!

We had an exquisite dinner of chicken, rice and vegetable under the stars. Then we munched on with apple pie and cream! We are now getting ready for bed.
