CLIENT: Gold Youth Voyage

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20240401

FROM: Gladstone To: Manly

DATE: 2 April 2024

POSITION: Lady Musgrave Is

REPORT: Red Watch

Note from Sailing Master: we are over the horizon out at Lady Musgrave Island, so no internet available.

We woke up at 6 o’clock to the sound of a bugle call. We then went to raise the anchor manually as a whole crew and then set sail to Lady Musgrave Island. Today red watch was on the main sail and we helped hoist it up and tack during our later watch from 10-12pm led by our bosun. Then we received our hot breakfast from Hugh (Greatest of all time chefs) at this point our Bosun decided to tap out and let the next line take over. Lunch felt extra good after our long watch and Hugh came through with the burgers.

Later in the day we anchored and started the adrenaline fuelled jump from the side of the boat to try and kiss the mermaid. Following that we enjoyed the short journey on the tender to Lady Musgrave Island in which we enjoyed snorkelling and a good swim in the reef, saw many turtles and colourful fish and coral. We then hosed ourselves down, got in some dry clothes and won a knot tying competition, all in a days work for the red watch. Finally we finished off with some lovely dinner, in which Hugh came through with the beef stew, and went to bed after our last watch for the day wrapped up at 8pm.
