CLIENT: Holiday Voyage

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20180924

FROM: Manly TO: Hervey Bay

DATE: 26 Sept 2018

POSITION: Moon Point

REPORT BY: Red Watch

It was light wind with a few showers. Early morning dolphins, tuna and diving birds were sighted. Raised anchor and travelled north using motor due to very low wind. Trolling lures off back of boat in hope of catching fish for dinner. Unexpectedly when the lines were being pulled in, we discovered that we had caught a sea snake by the tail. We let the sea snake go and it survived.

We went to Fraser commando school, off Mckenzies Jetty, went ashore and walked to the base where 909 Z-Force soldiers were trained. There was a memorial to past soldiers who trained in the area and were part of some of the 81 missions that the Z-Force conducted. We spent some time on the beach and had a mud bath before heading back to the ship. We then set sail and anchored at Moon Point late afternoon. Watched a beautiful red full moon rise that evening.
