FROM: Townsville TO: Townsville

DATE: 13th August 2018

POSITION: Pioneer Bay, Orpheus Island

REPORT BY: Blue Watch

After a short bus trip we arrived at Lucinda port where we were greeted by the barge. We then had to make water deliveries to Pelorus Island and Orpheus Island before finally being delivered at The South Passage sail ship. There we met our wonderful watch groups and through safety procedures, such as how to safely use the capstan by taking turns. We soon started to raise the sails to adulthood from the early age of 3pm. Learning the ropes along the way, we tied up some loose ends, but we soon let them down and dropped the anchor at Pioneer Bay, Orpheus Island. The whole group then settled down in the shaky bunks, and enjoyed a delicious dinner and dessert by our very own Gordon Ramsey, Hugh is an amazing cook. After a few minutes, we went down to the bottom deck for some karaoke and singalongs. Once the clock struck 8 we began our watch duties on deck. The gorgeous sky was an incredible sight as we gathered bearings and counted surrounding ships. It was an unforgettable experience for us all that we will never forget. We are very excited to see what more this exciting adventure will show us!
