CLIENT: The Cathedral School – Group B

VOYAGE NUMBER:   20180807

FROM: Townsville  TO: Townsville

DATE: 10th August 2018

POSITION: Pioneer Bay, Orpheus Island

REPORT BY: Blue Watch

Blue watch got up at 4:00am for anchor watch and then polished the brass on the ship at 6am. Cold Breakfast was served shortly thereafter followed by a knotting competition which was won by blue watch with great teamwork. After the knotting competition, hot breakfast was served including bacon, eggs and toast. The dinghy skippered by Captain Bill then went ashore to collect further supplies of food. We raised the anchor and set the sails. We sailed around the top and down the east coast of Hinchinbrook Island, hugging the coast line and tacking in and out of each bay along the way. The scenery was spectacular. After exploring Zoe Bay, we headed south east and made our course to Orpheus Island. We dropped the anchor at Pioneer Bay at 4:30 and watched the sun go down while we completed another knotting competition (again won by blue watch). Hugh made us another scrumptious dinner (chicken hot pot). After dinner we had a sing-a-long on deck, we didn’t realise that there was so much talent on board. Even Hugh sang his repertoire. It is nearly time for “lights out”, it has been an adventurous day. Written by Angela and Angus.
