South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: The Cathedral School

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20180807

FROM: Townsville TO: Townsville

DATE: 9 August 2018

POSITION: Cardwell

REPORT BY: Red Watch

The Cathedral College group B started the day at Mungalla station, where we mingled for four hours while awaiting the bus to pick us up, taking us to Lucinda. From here we caught a barge over to Orpheus Island, which on the way to we were lucky enough to spot a whale. Once on Orpheus, the group gathered aboard the South Passage ship where we hoisted sails and headed towards Cardwell throughout the afternoon.

Around 5 o’clock, passing the Lucinda jetty, the sails were dropped and the motor was used to travel the rest of the journey through the channel to Cardwell where the anchor was dropped. The stars were spectacular as we approached Cardwell and dropped the anchor. The food was also amazing and a highlight for many.  People in this group share all the jobs and places (for example: sleeping place and having meals) together, which makes every one of us know each of us more, and making us closer.
