South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: St Marys Catholic College

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20180618

FROM: Cairns TO: Cairns

DATE: 18 June 2018

POSITION: Sunny Bay

REPORT BY: Blue Watch

Today Blue Watch met at 7:30 and boarded the ship. The watch then went through safety procedures and packed gear away, they then learnt about the ROPES principles and how to work as a team on the ropes hoisting the sails. Blue watch then proceeded to raise the Jib and staysail. Two out of the four watch members then became sea sick, yet persisted in helping run the ship. Every member of the watch had a go steering, tacking and working ropes around the ship.

Blue Watch learned fast and took every step well, helping to tidy the boat when we anchored at the end of the day. After the whole crew had dinner, we went on anchor watch from 20:00 – 24:00, in pairs, doing one hour each.
