CLIENT: Gold Duke of Ed Voyage

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20230702

FROM: Cairns to Cairns

DATE: 8 July 2023

POSITION: en route to Fitzroy Is

REPORT: White Watch

During command day, white watch (the best watch) started off by prepping the head sails by flaking the jib downhaul and staysail downhaul, took the gaskets off, raise the anchor manually because Lizzy (our Captain) was annoying and said so, then we were then ready to raise the head sails. White watch raised the head sails and started our command day up the coast.

Our first watch was 10 – 12, we started of by doing a gybe to set us north towards High island and then a gybe so we could swing by Eddies Bay in hopes of seeing a cassowary for 100 points (we did not see a cassowary). We were supposed to have a swim but unfortunately, we were to slow and we had to miss out so we could make it to Fitzroy island by our deadline which was 8:30pm otherwise we would be deducted points.

We then continued to steam up north at around 7 knots without the motor because Lizzy was super conscious of our limited time using the motor. We then made it to Fitzroy island by 8:30pm to secure our 100 points.
