CLIENT: Gold Duke of Ed Voyage

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20230702

FROM: Cairns to Cairns

DATE: 6 July 2023

POSITION: Pioneer Bay, Orpheus Is

REPORT: Red Watch

We started the day at 6:30am with the serenade of Eds singing (nobody can play bugle).  We got some of the ‘wet porridgeeee.’ Then with some fierce competition, we had our morning knot contest. A hot breakfast of pancakes was served to start off our “sugar strength.” Sails were then raised, and we headed off for the day in the shining sun.

Lunch time came as we spotted dolphins and whales. Soon enough we got to our snorkelling point for the day Pelorus Island. Sails were lowered and flippers came out and it was time to jump in. We jumped into the water and begun swimming to shore. Harry yelled out something had stung him. Harry was rushed back to the ship and after a long phone call and getting everyone back on deck we left for Orpheus Island. Harry was then helicoptered out from Orpheus to hospital in Townsville.

We then went a little north round the Island and anchored for the night. We had another knot contest followed by a dinner of butter chicken served by Hugh. Then we learnt about humans and boats with the boys asking questions. Get well soon Harry.
