Mareeba SHS
This morning, we were up at 1am drinking hot chocolate and eating cookies, but Ellis, Jilli, Jake and Liam wouldn’t wakeup despite red lights and Louise coming every 5 minutes. After our watch ended, we were woken up by an annoying bugle which was played surprisingly well by Liam! By 7:00 AM, the crew was up on deck for a rope tying competition of the reef knot, a cold breakfast closely followed by a hot breakfast. Our fearless watch leader encouraged us through almost impossible tasks, hoisting sails, flaking ropes, tacking several times on our way to Sudbury Cay and having a blast. After our 2 and half hour watch, we moored at Sudbury Cay and jumped off the vessel like the pros we are. We finally got to eat lunch at 12:30 and then raised the sails again! Heading for High Island in the Frankland Islands group. We anchored and swam from the boat or the gorgeous shore until it was time for a knotting competition of figure of 8 followed by dinner and scrumptious dessert. Skip to content
