South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: General Public Voyage

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20220519

FROM: Hervey Bay to Rosslyn Bay

DATE: 19 May 2022

POSITION: Rooney Point, Fraser Is

REPORT BY: Blue Watch

The same wind that held us against the Jetty, also blew us across the bay. We went over our rope handling skills, teaching our guests the skills they would use for the day. With only a small group of people we worked together and helped out with each other’s duties. We Gybed a few times as the wind increased during the afternoon.

Lunch was delicious and then in the afternoon there was shore excursion to the beach on Rooney Point on Frazer Island and collected some rubbish. We had the knotting competition, testing our skills of the round turn and two half hitches knot, and Red Watch were the winners.

Louise served up a delicious meal of chicken stir fry followed by apricot Danish and custard while Skipper serenaded us on his very masculine pink ukulele.  There was quite some discussion as to how to spell “Ukulele”.
