South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: Silkwood School

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20230421

FROM: Manly to Manly

DATE: 24 April 2023

POSITION: Coochiemudlo Is

REPORT: White Watch

Today we woke up at 06:00 and we had bacon and eggs on toast. We started our shift at 10 am, we didn’t raise our sail, but had to help the other watches. We had to tack the sails several times as it was very rainy and windy weather. The weather was terrible today and very challenging and tested our skills to the best of our knowledge. We took turns on different jobs on deck such as port lookout, starboard lookout, and helming. After finishing our shift at 12:00 we went below deck and wrote in our journal for Duke of Ed and had delicious pasta and cheesy bread.

After eating lunch, we just hung out below deck as it was sill pouring down. We played uno and chess while we waited for our next shift. For dinner we had sausages, mashed potatoes, and vegetables for dinner. We had a competition between watches involving setting up and putting down the backstays, blue watch won the competition however white watch came second. At 18:00 we were back on watch and filled out the daily voyage report and took the bearing of the markers around us and look at the ships close.
