Our first day on the South Passage Voyage started off early at 4am, greeted with a hot chocolate for us to make, we begin our first anchor watch excited about what things we may face. We started to complete our Voyage Booklets to gain a better understanding of how the boat runs.

At 6am we all gathered as a watch group to begin our first task, polishing the brass on the helm. At 8am we begin to prepare the boat for a long day of sailing, this included raising the Jib and Staysail. During our breaks we had some fun as well, we harnessed onto the bowsprit and also had some luck throwing out a line and hooking a spotted mackerel. Later on during the day we had to gybe the sails from port side to starboard side.

In Conclusion, our first day on the South Passage Voyage started of with a success, learning how a sailing ship runs and some new knots and terminology on the boat.
