South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: Voyage of Friends

VOYAGE NUMBER: 20170623

FROM: Cairns TO: Townsville

DATE: 27 June 2017

POSITION: Palm Island

Report by: White Watch

Today’s first stop was Lucinda wharf to fill with water and deposit rubbish. Orpheus Island provided a pleasant stop at Yanks’ Jetty, where we enjoyed snorkelling and walked the beach for the afternoon. There was a wonderful reef near the jetty providing clams, fish and corals and soft corals.

Sails were full of wind from the south-east en route to Orpheus but we motored on to Palm Island for a knotting competition.

After dinner, the voyage crew elected officer’s for tomorrow’s voyage to Magnetic Island. Much fun was had in chatting about tomorrow’s adventure, with the aim of making Magnetic Island by beer o’clock.
